Snipeable ("we," "us," or "our") operates snipeable.com and distributes ShopGoodwill Sniper (also known as ShopGoodwill Auction Sniper and Goodwill Auction Bot, collectively "the Software"), a desktop application for Windows and macOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

By downloading or using the Software, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not download or use the Software.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The Software stores the following information locally on your device:

  • Your Snipeable account session token, encrypted on disk using AES-256-GCM with a device-derived key
  • Auction item settings, bid amounts, and snipe schedules you configure within the Software (stored in application localStorage)
  • Application preferences and settings

ShopGoodwill.com credentials are never stored by the Software. You log in to ShopGoodwill.com directly through an embedded browser inside the app. The Software captures the resulting session token from that browser session to place bids on your behalf.

2.2 Information Transmitted to Our Servers

The Software transmits the following to Snipeable's servers (snipeable.com):

  • Account authentication: Your Snipeable account email, password, and a device identifier (derived from your hardware/OS — never stored on our servers in raw form) when you log in to the Software
  • Win fee processing: When you win an auction, the Software sends the auction item details and winning price to our servers to calculate and charge the applicable service fee
  • Software update checks: A version string is sent to check for updates. No personal data is included.
  • Website analytics: Standard web server logs (IP address, timestamp, browser type) when you visit snipeable.com

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information strictly for:

  • Software Operation: Enabling the ShopGoodwill Sniper to authenticate with ShopGoodwill.com on your behalf and place bids
  • Software Updates: Delivering updates, patches, and new versions of the Software
  • Diagnostics: Identifying and fixing bugs, crashes, or compatibility issues
  • Security: Detecting unauthorized use, abuse, or fraud
  • Legal Compliance: Complying with applicable laws and responding to legal requests

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

4. Credential Security

ShopGoodwill.com credentials: The Software never stores or transmits your ShopGoodwill.com username or password. You log in to ShopGoodwill.com through an embedded browser window inside the app, exactly as you would in a regular browser. The Software captures only the session Bearer token produced by that login to place bids on your behalf.

Snipeable account credentials: Your Snipeable account email and password are transmitted to Snipeable's servers over HTTPS at login for device authentication. A session token is returned and stored encrypted on your device. Your raw password is not retained server-side beyond the authentication request.

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your device secure from unauthorized access
  • Using a strong, unique password for your ShopGoodwill.com and Snipeable accounts
  • Logging out of the Software on shared or untrusted devices

Snipeable shall not be liable for any unauthorized access to your accounts resulting from a compromise of your device, operating system, or local user account.

5. No Affiliation with ShopGoodwill.com

Snipeable and the ShopGoodwill Sniper software are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to ShopGoodwill.com or Goodwill Industries International. The Software interacts with ShopGoodwill.com's publicly accessible website on your behalf. Your use of ShopGoodwill.com is subject to their own privacy policy and terms of service, which Snipeable has no control over.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes. We may disclose information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, subpoena, court order, or government request
  • Safety: When necessary to protect the safety of any person or to address fraud, security, or technical issues
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our assets, subject to confidentiality obligations

7. Data Retention

Data stored locally on your device (credentials, settings) is retained until you uninstall the Software or manually delete the application data folder. Uninstalling the Software removes all locally stored data.

Anonymous diagnostic logs retained on our servers are purged on a rolling basis (typically within 90 days). Download analytics may be retained for up to 12 months for aggregate statistical analysis.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights:

  • Access & Deletion: Your credentials and settings are stored locally. You can delete them at any time by uninstalling the Software or clearing its data folder.
  • Opt-Out of Analytics: You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking on this website by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Do Not Track: Our website respects browser-level Do Not Track signals for website analytics.

9. Children's Privacy

The ShopGoodwill Sniper Software and snipeable.com are intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us immediately and we will promptly delete it.

10. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information transmitted to our servers, including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

SNIPEABLE MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT ITS SECURITY MEASURES ARE IMPENETRABLE, AND SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION BEYOND OUR REASONABLE CONTROL.

11. International Users

Snipeable.com is operated from the United States. If you access the Software or website from outside the United States, your data may be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States. By using the Software, you consent to this transfer and processing.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. The updated policy will be posted at snipeable.com/privacy with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Software or website after the update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
